| Report: | The Director General of Jabatan Standard Malaysia, Mr. See Chee Kong gave the opening address. Ir. Chong Chew Fan, Chairman of the Technical Committee on Dry Fire Protection (NSC 13/TC1), representing ACEM, presented an Overview of MS 2687:2018. He explained that the main sections in MS 2687 are Installation Requirements, and Maintenance Procedures. Ir. Chong also explained about the terms and definitions in the standard, design requirements of KELUAR signs and emergency lighting design, emergency power supply for central systems and single-point systems, provision of discharge test facilities, electrical wiring and luminaries, classification of emergency luminaries, requirements or characteristics of emergency lighting systems, typical information to be supplied by purchasers, guide for the maintenance of batteries and battery chargers. Pn Noriza Mohamed Sufian, Senior Auditor of SIRIM QAS International presented Conformity Assessment to MS 2687:2018. Tuan Kamarulzaman Malik Abdullah, Director of Planning & Research Division, Jabatan BOMBA, presented on the regulatory and licensing requirements of KELUAR signs and emergency lightings. The panelists also addressed and clarified questions at the seminar as well as written questions received by JSM prior to the seminar as part of JSM's public comment process. |
