| Report: | The ASHRAE Malaysia Chapter successfully collaborated with SEGi University and Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian French Institute (UniKL MFI) to organise World Refrigeration Day 2026 on 1 July 2026 at SEGi University, Kota Damansara, under the theme "Cool Intelligence." The event brought together more than 500 participants from government agencies, academia, professional institutions, industry, and the student community to promote awareness of sustainable cooling technologies and strengthen collaboration among key stakeholders. A major highlight of the event was the keynote address delivered by Mr. Ryan Ooi Chean Weai, Ketua Penolong Pengarah Kanan, Bahagian Udara, Department of Environment Malaysia, whose participation reinforced the strong partnership between ASHRAE Malaysia Chapter and the Department of Environment in advancing environmentally responsible cooling practices. The programme featured technical presentations, educational and industry exhibitions, student competitions, and networking sessions, providing an effective platform for knowledge sharing, professional engagement, and talent development. The event successfully enhanced public awareness of energy-efficient and sustainable HVAC&R technologies while further strengthening ASHRAE Malaysia Chapter's engagement with government agencies, industry partners, academic institutions, and future engineers in support of Malaysia's sustainability and climate goals. |
