Report: | Malaysian Green Technology & Climate Change Corporation (MGTC) incorporation with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), a technical agency of the German State is implementing the Scaling Sustainable Consumption & Production (Scaling SCP) project as an initiative in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals ( SDG) 12. |
One of the components under this project is the Current Status Review Study of the National Green Labeling Scheme where this study aims to obtain information on related policies, implementation status, target achievement performance and initiatives that are currently and will be implemented under the ministry and agencies involved based on their respective functions and jurisdictions.
The green labeling scheme in Malaysia, including the MyHIJAU Mark, has been introduced since 2015 as part of the country's efforts to promote sustainable development and reduce environmental impact. MyHIJAU Mark is one of the main initiatives coordinated by MGTC to recognize products and services that meet sustainability criteria. MyHIJAU Mark has gained wider recognition among industry and consumers. However, companies, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs), often face challenges in meeting the requirements and obtaining green certification due to high costs, lack of information, and complex procedures.
